The Simple Guy

Being simple is often complicated

Simple guys are scarcely populated

He has big dreams but isn't too vocal

Comfortable in anything, branded or local

Money can come and go, it's character that he seeks

Love is the only language he listens or speaks

The simple guy doesn't live for glory

Benevolent and concealed, such is his story

Doesn't worship the mighty, doesn't prey on the weak

Admiration for his duties, is not what he seeks

Simplicity at it's best, has a heavy price

Life may throw anything when you roll the dice

When the going gets tough, the tough guys get going

The simple guy will stand strong when the pain comes in snowing

You can count on his word, it's stronger than oak

Fidelity, integrity, honesty are the charms of this bloke

No matter where you are when u feel despair

He will be along, by land, sea or air

Will go out of his way for just your smile

Knowing deep down that's it's all worthwhile

Mistakes have their day, that's how we learn

Not repeating them of course, is the key concern

Fights are a given at most of life's turns

Remember to forget and not salt the burns

God forbid one day if there's just a single piece of bread

He'll sleep empty stomach, but keep your belly fed

With his vows and the ring, he'll be waiting down the aisle

Gazing with content as you step on each tile

Looks will fade away but conversations live along

He'll be your dance partner, till life's last song

Once he commits, he's there to stay

Since where there's a will, there's ALWAYS a way

These lessons aren't taught in any school

That only way to Love, is to Love like a Fool!
